A team of 10 “best sculptors in the country”, according to Joe Ricketts, a native of Nebraska City, NE., billionaire and founder of brokerage firm
TD Ameritrade, gathered together to collaborate (on all levels) the creation of 58 larger-than-life bronze figures representing the 2500 foot path
depicting the last dramatic moments in the life of Jesus Christ, from the condemnation by Pontius Pilate to his burial in a stony tomb. Jesus is believed to
have carried his cross from Jerusalem to Golgotha, the site of his crucifixion. The sculptures meticulously portray the passion and torment Christ endured.
A consistent theme, design, style, and color were critical as the ten artists, Lynn Kircher, George Lundeen, Bets Lundeen, Mark Lundeen, Ann LaRose,
Joey Bainer, Dee Clements, Rob Arps, Martin Eichinger, and Jay Warren worked closely to tackle this 3 year project for the multimillion dollar, 930 acre,
retreat center located in the rolling hills of Nebraska’s Platte River Valley.
Bronze Services (along with a few additional foundries), was honored to work with many of these artists. Once everything was installed, we were invited
to view the spectacular site and take photos. See photos below... and check out the Cloisters on the Platte website for more information.
